What is a perfume dupe?

A perfume dupe is a fragrance that closely resembles a more expensive designer scent in its olfactory signature without copying it. These affordable alternatives — often called fragrance twins — mostly come from Arab houses and deliver a comparable impression at a fraction of the price.

e. g. “Sauvage Elixir”, “Lattafa Asad” or “Creed Aventus”

How we compare

Our similarity is an editorial rating on a scale of 1 to 10 — not a measurement and not a percentage. We rely on the note pyramids of both fragrances, the consensus of the fragrance community, and our own smell tests on a blotter strip.
